Loch Ard
A freshwater loch (lake) in the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. The loch runs approximately west-east along a glen about three kilometres to the west of Aberfoyle. One of Scotland's most beautiful lochs, it is commonly considered to be the source of the River Forth.
Doon Hill Fairy Trail
Doon Hill, also known as 'Fairy Knowe', is reputed to be the home of fairies. The Doon Hill Fairy Trail is short, circular walk from the village that includes a visit to the summit of the hill.
'Go Ape'
A 'high wire' forest adventure including the UK's longest zip line.
'Go Ape' involves obstacle courses up in the trees using ladders, walkways, bridges and tunnels made of wood, rope and super-strong wire, and the country's longest zip line. (A video of the zip line can be watched on You Tube).
Forest Hills Hotel and Resort
A hotel and timeshare complex on the northern shore of Loch Ard. The leisure centre within the resort contains a curling rink that is used during the Winter months.
Scottish Wool Centre
In Aberfoyle village, at the east end of the main public car park is the Scottish Wool Centre. This is a retail centre for Scottish produce that also delivers informational presentations and, in the main tourist season, livestock demonstrations including sheep gathering.

The Queen Elizabeth Forest Park and The David Marshall Lodge
Situated a short distance to the north of Aberfoyle, on the Duke's Pass road, the David Marshall Lodge Visitor Centre is a good place to start exploring the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. The Lodge offers some excellent views of the surrounding area, including a view across Loch Ard Forest towards Ben Lomond in the west.
The Duke's Pass
This Pass is a steep and winding road that links Aberfoyle to the Trossachs and Brig O'Turk. The 'In Callander' web site describes a circular car journey that goes through the Pass and Aberfoyle, and also takes in many points of interest.
Inchmahome Priory and the Lake of Menteith
A few kilometres east from Aberfoyle, on the south side of the road to Stirling lies the Lake of Menteith. The Inchmahome Priory is situated on an island on the Lake and can be reached by boat.
